The Retreat at Ocean Commons
D.R. Horton developed the Retreat at Ocean Commons in 2021. In Surfside Beach, it's close enough to the beach to ride a golf cart. The Retreat is a natural gas community, outside the city limits, but offering lighted streets with sidewalks, sodded and landscaped yards, and six sparkling ponds to give most of the homes a nice water view.
All homes by D.R. Horton are energy efficient, with ocean floorplans, garages, and many standard features that are upgrades with other home builders. The newest option Horton offers is their "Smart Home Package", with keyless entry, a doorbell camera, Amazon Echos, and smart thermostats.
Homes are one or two-story, ranging from 1618 to 3129 sq ft. Children here will attend Lakewood Elementary, and Socastee Middle and High Schools. This is the location you want, convenient to Market Common, Surfside Beach Pier, and all the great seafood restaurants in Murrells Inlet. The Myrtle Beach State Park is nearby too!
