Highland Ridge is a larger development of around 128 homes, adjacent to Highland Park off McCormick Rd in Forestdale. This community boasts 4 lakes, providing water views as well as mature trees and plenty of natural areas. Developed in the mid-2000's, homes here are older than in Highland Park and may be just slightly less expensive. Prices run from the high $200,000's to about $350,000 for three or four bedrooms. Homes that back up directly to the lake will cost more.
Highland Ridge also has a community pool and clubhouse, manicured lawns, water views everywhere, and underground utilities. Golf carts are allowed, which is always fun. Most lots are a quarter-acre, and many are fenced in. Flowers and decorative trees abound. You'll find screened porches, patios, and backyard entertainment areas.
The homes have all the expected upgrades such as premium flooring or hardwood, vaulted and trey ceilings, chef's kitchens, granite countertops, and walk-in closets. Kids attend River Oaks Elementary, Ocean Bay Middle School, and the much-desired Carolina Forest High School.
