Hunters Ridge is a community off Forestbrook Rd that stretches in all directions around the Forestbrook schools. The homes were built in phases starting around 1997, by different builders and at different times. The sizes, types, and prices vary widely from one end to the other of the development, ranging from as low as $160,000 to top off at just under $500,000 in the pricier sections. There are 3, 4, and 5 bedroom homes here, from 1100 sq ft to 4000 sq ft estate homes.
The area is outside the city limits, which makes it a popular choice for lower taxes. A community pool is available, and the homes are well maintained. Several named subsections can be found, such as Stono at Hunters Ridge Crossing and The Crossing at Hunters Ridge Plantation.
The chief reason Hunters Ridge is popular is because of the proximity to the schools. Forestbrook Elementary and Middle School are just minutes up the road, and Socastee High School is convenient. Although far away from the tourist traffic, the homes of Hunters Ridge are just a short drive away from the best beach in the southeast.
