As more and more baby boomers are reaching the age of retirement, 55-plus and active adult neighborhoods are popping up all around Myrtle Beach and the surrounding cities. What we do not have at the beach is continuing care retirement community. That is about to change, and not surprisingly, by the name that means the best in the Grand Strand - Grande Dunes.
LIV Development is based in Birmingham Alabama and has developed more than 20 Senior Living resorts throughout the east coast. LIV plans to partner with Frontier Management to build a 22.8 square foot master-planned continuing care community on 12 acres of property located at Cipriana Drive and 82nd Parkway. Plans are for 82 assisted living apartments, 18 memory care apartments, independent living apartments, and more. The community will be Portside at Grande Dunes.
This development will bring an entirely new concept to the Grand Strand, attracting well-to-do retirees from near and far to enjoy its lavish and myriad amenities. Aside from the Grande Dunes tasteful Mediterranean architecture and exquisitely landscaped neighborhoods, residents will have access to legendary golf courses with two clubhouses, a 130-slip Marina with a hotel, tennis facilities, lakes, walking trails; as well as a private 25,000 sq ft clubhouse, restaurant, and multi-pool oceanfront entertainment facility.
State of the art hospital and physician offices are just steps away from Grande Dunes, and will be even closer to the planned retirement community. Grande Dunes was made to order for a Senior Living resort, and there is no doubt this will add a new level of sophistication to the Grand Strand's reputation as the best beach on the east coast.
