NMB Middle school is a top rated public school option for parents and students moving to the Little River area. The middle school is ranked #2 for Standout Middle Schools in the Myrtle Beach area on Niche.com as of 2022! There are approximately 1,186 students attending in grades 6-8 with a student teacher ratio of 16:1. When comparing state test scores, at least 54% of students here are proficient in reading and 49% in math.
In addition to academics, there are many clubs and athletic organizations for students to become involved in. The Chief Champion club is one that has just recently been started. The goal of the Chief Champion Club is to promote getting involved in the community by contributing positively. Meetings include fitness activities and character building activities. Students receive a special t-shirt when they achieve the set goals of the club to reward and recognize them for their dedication.
