Lakewood Elementary is a fantastic option for parents and their young students making the move to the Socastee/Myrtle Beach area. They are highly rated and as of 2022 rank in the top 10 for Best Public Elementary Schools in the area on Niche.com! The teachers and staff here are dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe and secure learning environment.
There are approximately 864 students who attend in grades Pre K-5th with a student-teacher ratio of 15:1. Students here score above average in comparison to state test scores. At least 66% of them are proficient in math and 59% in reading. A gifted program is offered to students who are looking for something more within their curriculum.
Physical education is important to Lakewood and they want to make it fun for their students. In order to do so they recently incorporated Archery as a part of their curriculum for students in grades 3-5. Lakewood also has a Spirit Rock! The Spirit Rock is available to reserve as a way to celebrate and support your child at school.
