Socastee High School is an outstanding public, magnet school option for parents and students searching in the Myrtle Beach area. The mission of Socastee High School is to prepare students to be successful and caring by a challenging curriculum. As of 2022, SHS is ranked #3 in Best Public High Schools in Myrtle Beach on Niche.com. Approximately 1,646 students attend in grades 9-12. Here at Socastee High there is a student-teacher ratio of 17:1. A smaller class size allows students to build relationships with fellow classmates and teachers. 81% of students attending Socastee High School are proficient in reading and 71% in math. Test scores at SHS are above average with the SAT at 1190 and ACT at 24.
The 4-year graduation rate for students here is 85%. Socastee High School offers a wide range of courses such as advanced placement, air force JROTC, international baccalaureate, fine arts, and many more to meet every student's preference. In addition to academics, Socastee High School provides many club and athletic organizations that are open to all students.
