Shea was raised in Charleston, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University in Morgantown WV, where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance. Upon graduating, he decided to relocate to the Myrtle Beach area and worked in the hotel/restaurant industry during 2003.

Shea then decided to return and get his Masters Degree in Management Industrial Labor Relations. In 2005, his love for the Grand Strand brought him back to South Carolina where he has found a passion for providing real estate services. In his own words,
