North Myrtle Beach Real Estate

North Myrtle Beach

It used to be that North Myrtle Beach was a quiet, uncrowded residential beach that generations of families visited year after year. Though the line has been blurred between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach with the traffic and luxury high-rise condos, those who always preferred North Myrtle still do...and always will. It's a different atmosphere - to some a classier atmosphere - and now has every attraction that Myrtle Beach itself has, plus a few!

Myrtle Beach has Broadway at the Beach.  North Myrtle has Barefoot Landing.  Myrtle Beach has the Grande Dunes, and North Myrtle has Barefoot Resort and North Beach Plantation.

Many of the golf courses are on the north end, and so are more convenient to this area...and the suburb of Little River even has casino boats!

North Myrtle Beach has plenty of fancy new high-rise condos on the beach, but not as many of the giant resorts. For those who love the big resorts, there is Baywatch Resort and Prince Resort at the Cherry Grove Pier. With a few exceptions, most of the other vacation condos are smaller and more private. The remaining beach houses may be a bit smaller and less expensive, although there are many brand new private neighborhoods of townhomes and villas within a few blocks of the beach.

Golf carts are more often seen used to visit the drug store or a favorite restaurant, Main Street in the Ocean Drive section still caters to the "shag" dancers and their favorite watering holes such as Fat Harolds and Ducks.

On the far south end of North Myrtle you find the huge gated Ocean Creek Resort, as fine of a self-contained vacation complex as any of the best. New to the area is the luxurious North Beach Plantation where you can still buy a brand new condominium or beach home and personalize it.  The Intracoastal Waterway runs parallel and closer to Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach, and there are several resorts with marinas and boat slips there and in Little River. Harbourgate Resort and the complexes at Coquina Harbour in Little River are perfect for the avid boater.

If you want a home that's in a little less hectic area but still chock-full of the best restaurants and entertainment, consider looking in North Myrtle Beach.  For recommendations of areas to begin your search for North Myrtle Beach real estate, contact us and tell us what you have in mind.  Meanwhile, you can browse through some of the available properties below.
