Happy Holidays!


Here we are nearing Christmas and the New Year. Of course, 2014 has been a great year for a lot of property owners though many of us wish the prices would increase more and a lot faster.

I'm sure you are getting agents sending you emails about listing your property during the holidays. I have to agree that the holidays can be a great time to sell, yet it is important that you understand why.

What can you expect when selling during the holidays?

1) You will see a Decrease in the Number of Showings you get during the holiday season.

2) You will see an Increase in the Quality of the buyers that are looking at your property during the holidays.

Because everyone is busy with shopping, final work obligations, and travel, ONLY motivated and qualified buyers are looking at property this time of year.

We do not see a lot "tire kickers" or "window shoppers" this time of year. Unlike the summer months, the people that are taking the time to come to the Grand Strand and look at property typically have an urgency to purchase. Maybe they have to relocate because of a job, divorce, or they need a contract on a property for tax purposes. 

The bottom line is that is takes fewer showings this time of year to get a property sold. So, for those worried about a lot of showings during the holidays, this will not be the case. Actually, if you get a showing, it will likely be the highest quality showing you could have in the next few months.
