Carolina Forest is one of the most popular new communities in the area. Located halfway between Myrtle Beach and Conway on Highway 501, the area is just far out enough to make it affordable, and close enough to enjoy all the amenities of the beach, from shopping and dining to the nightclubs and live shows.

The Forest is a 9000 acre landscaped community that boasts its own high school, middle school, and elementary school. A small shopping center lines its entrance, and many businesses such as doctors and dentists have located their offices to serve the residents. Coastal Carolina University and Horry Technical Institute are both located right around the corner as well. Carolina Forest can be considered almost a self-contained community.

Plantation Lakes

The homes in Carolina Forest are designed around 3 golf courses; The Man O'War, Wizard, and Witch, designed by Dan Maples, a world famous architect. The different neighborhoods are designed for family size and pricing, and are decorated by the many lakes, inlets, and nature trails that were built into the design.

The unincorporated (so far) neighborhoods include: Spring Lake, Covington Lakes, Belle Grove Oaks, and Avalon. Prices in these areas range from $40,000 - $200,000.

Plantation Lakes Home

The more exclusive areas, including Plantation Lakes, Carolina Waterway, and Waterford Plantation range in price from $200,000-$600,000.

Home builders in Carolina Forest include Centex, Beazer, DR Horton, Pace Developers, and several others.

With friendly neighbors, sidewalks for the kids to bike to school, and fitness made convenient for joggers and walkers, Carolina Forest offers a home for every pocketbook, and may be one of the best investments in the Grand Strand area.
